Working alongside Newydd Housing Association, Chamberlain Moss King Architects, and Sterling Construction, Vale Consultancy served as the lead Structural and Civil Engineers for the refurbishment of The Seaview Labour Club, formerly owned by Brains. Located in the seaside town of Barry, the former pub offers views over the waterfront.
The regeneration project aimed to provide 28 homes, including three adaptive flats for affordable rent, within the existing building, along with a new extension at the rear of the site. Vale Consultancy conducted an extensive survey of the building prior to work commencement to assess its structural condition and identify any structural elements that could be reused.
Given the scale of the project, Vale Consultancy remained highly involved, providing quick-turnaround structural designs, advice, and site visits as required.
