Seamless Coastal Design: A Glazed Gem
To preserve the café’s uninterrupted views through its glass walls, we designed a steel frame superstructure without side bracing, supported by a reinforced concrete raft foundation. Given the site’s exposure to high wind loads, the steel frame features moment-resistant connections, and the slender steel hollow columns are filled with concrete for added strength.
The result is a sleek design with almost frameless glazed links that seamlessly integrate with the original building, creating a light-filled, inviting space perfectly suited to its coastal setting.
