Balancing Design and Views at Llanerch Vineyard
Vale Consultancy was the lead Structural Engineer for the design of a new restaurant extension at Llanerch Vineyard, a hotel, restaurant, and vineyard set in the tranquil countryside outside Cardiff. The site features an award-winning restaurant with stunning views of the vineyard.
With these scenic views in mind, it was crucial that the structural layout of the new restaurant did not obstruct them, ensuring diners could enjoy both the modern ambiance and panoramic views of the Welsh countryside.
Vale Consultancy designed the steel-framed structure, including a balcony overlooking the vineyard, ensuring that the views were maintained. The design also provided flexibility for the restaurant, allowing the layout to be easily adjusted for diners’ needs.
Throughout the project, we stayed in close contact with the client, attending site meetings as necessary. The construction was completed in 2020, following an efficient and effective design process led by Vale Consultancy.
