A New Chapter: Collaborating with Trivallis Housing Association
Working alongside Trivallis Housing Association, Vale Consultancy served as the lead structural engineers for the substructure of the refurbishment of the Former Pentre Hotel.
The dilapidated shell of the former hotel, left in ruins after years of neglect, had only its front façade still standing. The site was surrounded by a garage on one side, flats on the opposite, a large wall separating the site from an embankment at the rear, and a road at the front. These constraints made the project particularly challenging.
During demolition, an unknown cellar was discovered, requiring an updated foundation solution to accommodate the existing structure. Due to the surrounding buildings and complex site conditions, the foundation solution had to address various variables, making the design intricate and diverse.
Vale Consultancy provided ongoing structural and civil engineering support throughout the construction phase. The new flats have now been completed, providing the area with much-needed affordable homes.
