SuDS: Sustainable Drainage System
As part of our Civil Engineering services, we conducted a cut and fill analysis to maximize the use of existing materials and minimize the need for material removal.
We also designed a Sustainable Drainage System (SuDS) aimed at treating runoff as close to its source as possible, managing stormwater during extreme weather events. This involved a cascading arrangement of stone rills, swales, filter drains, detention basins, and flow control devices.

The site is served by a gravity foul drainage system that discharges into a private package pump station at the lowest point, where it is then pumped back up to an existing foul sewer.
Our Structural Engineering Team also designed the substructure for the new log cabins. Foundation solutions varied across the undulating site due to the presence of made ground levels, with options including traditional strip foundations, trench fill, and piled solutions.
